I think that the finest examples of anglesite known have come from Morocco. The gem quality yellow crystals are coveted by all collectors and curators. The mines have now been closed for a few years and good examples are very difficult to acquire. The thumbnail shown here is excellent. A glassy gem quality transparent terminated prismatic crystal measuring 2.5 cm in length is set on a small amount of matrix. The matrix is coated by small sparkling gemmy crystals of anglesite. The main crystal is free-standing and clean all around. There is no damage or chipping. There is a slightly milky white area forming a band through the center of the crystal; this is all internal. The quality is excellent; the specimen is very pretty!

Väyrynenite is a rare phosphate containing manganese and beryllium, among a few other things. The type locality is in Finland. Lately some good specimens have been emerging from the pegmatites in Pakistan. The thumbnail shown here is quite good, consisting of a pinkish-red naturally etched crystal with only a small amount of matrix attached on the back and side of the crystal. The crystal is highly translucent, showing some gemmy areas. Superb for the species!
